Teal Memories

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

It was love at first sight when I saw today’s inspiration photo.  I wanted to recreate the look but didn’t have a white shirt with the right neckline for a long necklace.  Instead, I opted for this brown top, kept the bootcut jeans and teal accessories, and added sandals and a fun teal bag.  Overall, I’m loving the look!

It’s Gonna Be Bright

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

photogrid_1529380742420940009080539961339.jpg

I love me some bright colors in the summer!  Well, maybe always, but especially in the summer.  I mean seriously, how can you be sad in bright yellow and pink?  It’s nearly impossible!  See my winter and spring looks with this color combo.  Clearly, I love being bright!

For today’s look, I paired a bright yellow top with a pink tank, a matching pink sweater, and a jean skirt.  I finished off the look with some cute metallic sandals, a pink statement necklace, and a teal purse compliments of my sweet friend Becca (thanks, Becca!).  I love the vibe that pop of the teal gives the rest of the outfit.  It’s a little boost of something special and unexpected!

This past weekend, the hubby and I went to dinner with some of our dear friends. Once again, it was so HOT! Not to worry, though, I had plenty of hot weather date night options I couldn’t wait to wear! I wasn’t feeling overly creative, so I opted for a tank top maxi dress. The great thing about throwing on a dress is that I could spend more time accessorizing. Now we’re talking! These tassel earrings from the FabFitFun Spring Box had to make an appearance along with some gold and black bracelets. I’m quite loving this look for double date night!

What’s your favorite hot weather date night outfit?

How’s the weather where you are?  It’s getting HOT here.  I find dressing for the hot weather and the office very challenging.  I want to wear shorts and a tank top, but that’s not going to work.  Often times, I opt for capris, a tank, and a sweater.  Today is no different.  This outfit uniform makes it super simple to slip on the sweater as you’re going into work and take it off when you leave.  It’s the perfect way to balance the hot weather outside and the cool a/c inside.

What’s your hot weather work uniform?

Boho Red

Hey, guys! Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

I love me some red! That wasn’t always the case, though. One day my grandma told me that all blond haired girls should have one red shirt. So, I tried one on and I was hooked!

Recipe Style:

Today’s inspiration pic spoke to me with that bold red top. The look is so summery and simple. I couldn’t wait to recreate it!

My Style:

For the restyle, I opted for this red, boho top. Boho isn’t my go-to style choice, but it’s good to switch things up from time to time. I paired the top with my Levi’s pull on jeans from Wal-Mart (see post here). These are so comfy and stylish! You need these jeans in your life! I finished off the look with some cute sandals and silver and pearl jewelry. I’m really loving this outfit. It’s season appropriate (especially for these hot days), stylish, and best of all comfy! Style and comfort? We really can have it all!

Do you wear boho style clothes?

Coral is Back

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

Ah, yes, coral!  One of my favorite colors, but especially in summer.  Seriously, how can anyone be anything but happy in coral?  Love it!  Today’s inspiration is simple but fabulous with coral front and center.  I couldn’t wait to recreate the look!

For the restyle, I paired a short-sleeved coral sweater with a white tank, skinny jeans, cognac ballet flats, a few bracelets, and a gold, coral necklace.  I’m in love with this look for summer!  It’s definitely one that will be on repeat this season!

Summer Brown

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

Brown isn’t a color we often associate with summer.  I’m not sure why, because brown can certainly hold its own in our warm season wardrobes.  Case in point is today’s inspiration photo.  The light color of the sweater coupled with the crocheted pattern makes this a light and breezy choice for a summer look.  The funky tank also plays into the summer vibe of the outfit.

Recipe Style:

From Amazing Outfits Facebook page

For my restyle, I reached for a funky, colorful tank paired with a 3/4 length brown sweater, light jeans, and some light brown ballet flats.  The look was finished off by layering some gold necklaces.  This look wasn’t quite as summery as I was hoping for, but I’m not mad at it.  This will be a good go-to look for early fall.  I’ll try it again then.

That’s all for today.  Thanks for stopping by!  See you guys in my next post!

Baby Blue

And the return of the white pants

Hey, guys! Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

I hope everyone had a nice and relaxing holiday weekend! Mine was spent with family by the pool and the fire pit. Can’t get much better than that! Thanks to all who have served and especially to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Freedom isn’t free, thank you, veterans!

With the unofficial start of summer, I decided to pull out the white jeans. Oh, the white jeans. I have a love-hate relationship with the white jeans. My clumsy side says to not even think about putting those on. While my graceful side says oh but they’ll look so cute! Promising myself I wouldn’t eat anything overly messy, I decided to go for it!

Now, I just needed some inspiration. Perusing through Pinterest, I came across today’s inspiration. Surprise, surprise, I was totally drawn to the pink.  The bright pink top paired with the white jeans is so simple and classy. Love it!  Instead of the pink, I opted for this blue top.  Gasp!  Can  you believe I opted for a color other than pink!?!  It’s shocking, I know.  I don’t wear this blue blouse very often, so I wanted to give it some wear time.  Plus, I really love it and knew it would be a great match with the white jeans. I topped off the look with some jewelry and cute sandals and I was ready for the day.

Just Say No

No More Buttons or Zippers

Hey, guys! Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

It’s time to get comfy, lovelies! When I discovered leggings a year or so ago (yes, I’m always late to the party), I realized the gloriousness of their comfort. We can have comfort and style? Yes, please! Recently, I’ve taken that a step further.

It all started when I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Living in Yellow. She is also all about stylish comfort. She was asking why we’re still wearing pants with buttons and zippers. I thought, yes, why are we still wearing these things? Since then, I’ve also heard co-workers and friends say the same thing. Clearly, this is a problem that needs to be fixed ASAP. So, I went on a quest for some elastic waist jeans.

You might be asking yourself, “Elastic waist jeans? Aren’t those ‘Grandma jeans’?” Fair question. The hubby had the same reaction when I told him what I was doing. His reply was something along the lines of ‘make sure they look cute and not like Grandma jeans.’ Apparently, the ‘Grandma jeans’ notion is far-reaching! As I began my search, though, I realized that pull-on jeans (that’s what they call them now) are a thing and that they can be as cute and style as classic jeans. These aren’t your grandma’s pull on jeans!

Here are a few of my favorites I found through my search:

JCPenney: Mixit Denim Stretch Leggings: $36

JCP Mixit Denim Stretch Leggings

As usual, I turned my sites to JCPenney first. I love me some JCP! I found quite a few options but settled on these leggings from Mixit. In the past, I’ve had good luck with Mixit leggings. I have a pair in black that never sag as the day goes on. There’s nothing worse than sagging leggings, amiright? These did not disappoint either! Even on day 2 wear, they stayed up and looked fabulous!

Amazon: PajamaJeans Women’s Bootcut Stretch Knit Denim Jeans: $27-$50

PajamaJeans Women's Bootcut Stretch Knit Denim Jeans

My next stop was Amazon. The selection on Amazon is fabulous. You can find just about anything you could ever dream of on the online shopping site, including pull on jeans. I was intrigued by these jeans from PajamaJeans. First off, any jeans that contain the word ‘pajama’ sound super comfy. Secondly, they look so so stylish. They are priced a bit on the higher end, so I didn’t end up purchasing them. They’re definitely on my wishlist, though!

Amazon: Riders by Lee Indigo Women’s Pull-on Waist Smoother Bootcut Jean: $26

Riders by Lee Indigo Women's Pull on Waist Smoother Bootcut Jean

These were another Amazon find. I loved how stylish these jeans looked and, of course, the smoothing aspect of them as well. I couldn’t wait until they arrived on my doorstep! Sadly, though, these are heading back. They were so difficult to put on. The waist fits loosely but the pants are tight through the thighs and hips. I could tell they were going to be terribly saggy and uncomfortable.

Walmart: Women’s Totally Shaping Pull on Bootcut Jeans: $20

Levi's Women's Totally Shaping Pull On Bootcut Jeans

Walmart has really been stepping up their game lately. Have you been on their website recently? It’s been totally revamped and looks much more like their higher end department store counterparts. Check it out if you haven’t already. It’s impressive. Anyway, I decided to make Walmart my next stop on my pull on jean finding adventure. They also did not disappoint. I was drawn to these Levi pull on jeans. I can’t even believe I’m saying Levi and pull on in the same sentence! I haven’t purchased these yet, but I cannot wait to try them!

Okay, let’s put these pull-on jeans to the test! In one shot I’m wearing the standard button and zipper jeans. In the other, I’m wearing the pull-ons. Can you tell which is which?

Would you wear pull on jeans?

That’s all for today. Thanks for stopping by! See you guys in my next post!

lylas,

MissyAnn

Answer: A is the standard jeans; B is the pull on jeans.  Did you get it right?
