More Animal Print

My Style Mondays

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!
Today, we’re talking animal prints…again.  That’s right, animal prints are still in full force over here.  Normally, I would pair this pink sweater with my grey/white/black animal print scarf (see it here).  The inspiration photo gave me the idea to pair this pink sweater with a brown/tan/black animal print scarf.  I’m loving that changing the scarf changes the whole look of the outfit.  Pretty cool, right?

Sporty Spice

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

Most days I’m a girly-girl and I love it.  Today, though, I was feeling casual Friday vibes (or in this case casual Thursday).  We’ve almost made it to the weekend and I felt like celebrating with a super casual look.  A tee shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes.  I like to call it my Sporty Spice look.

The Fashion Uniform

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

Today, let’s talk uniforms.  We all have that outfit that never fails us.  It’s really a fabulous thing.  No matter how rushed you may be in the morning, your uniform is the look that never flops.  I have a few such uniforms, but this one might be my favorite.  A black top and black leggings are the perfect blank canvas.  You can add any color sweater, throw on a scarf or statement necklace (or both!), slip on some cute shoes, and you’re good to go!  Easy and chic, love it!

What’s your fashion uniform?
Sidenote, this may also make a fabulous Valentine’s Day outfit!

Navy Surprise

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

Today, let’s talk trying again.  I’m pretty sure I’ve tried to copy this inspiration photo before.  I’m pretty sure I had the same luck trying to wear this mustard tank this time as I did before.  Mustard tank-2, MissyAnn-0.  Yeah, no-go on the mustard tank.  We don’t want to give up that easily, though.  Instead of the mustard tank, I opted to try a different summer shirt.  This was one I bought on vacation in Mississippi (see that post here).  I’ve been curious if this top would transition into winter with a navy sweater and leggings.  Turns out, it does!  When first you don’t succeed, try something new!  Who knows what surprises are waiting for you in your closet!

Easy Outfit

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

Some days we just need easy.  Today was one of those days for me.  I wasn’t feeling particularly creative and I was in a hurry.  For an easy look, I pulled out a pink and black top and paired it with a black tank and a black sweater.  The boldness of the top gave the outfit interest and I barely had to try!  To finish off the look, I added a bold necklace and some black earrings.  That’s it!  Talk about easy, right?

Have a fabulous day, lovelies!

Seeing Red

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

Today, let’s talk having it all.  That’s not always easy, but today it is.  I often struggle with dressing for the outside temperature (which is COLD here in the upper Midwest) and the inside temperature.  Does anyone else have this trouble?  We all know the answer…layer, layer, layer.  It’s not always easy to layer and still look stylish, though. This look makes it simple.  I paired a long-sleeved red tee, a scarf, skinny jeans, boots, and topped it off with a brown chunky sweater.  The sweater gives the look added warmth yet still looks stylish.  When you get too warm inside, the sweater can be removed without compromising the cuteness of the outfit.  Easy, stylish, and warm?  Now that’s having it all!

Scarf Crush

Hey, guys! Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!
Scarf kelly green animal print ballet flats winter fashion
Confession time… I’ve got a scarf crush. It’s true. This scarf has been on serious repeat the last few weeks (see posts herehere, and here). Apparently, I’m on a black and gray kick.  Who knew? Let’s steer into the skid with today’s look.  I love the Kelly green paired with the gray as shown in the inspiration pic. I love Kelly green, but I can’t always pull it off well. In this outfit, though, it works. Sticking close to the inspiration I paired a kelly green tee with a gray sweater, bootcut jeans, my new ballet flats, and, of course, my scarf crush.  I’m really loving this look!

The Simple Sweater

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

The Easy Way to Mix Prints

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

Today, let’s talk mixing it up.  It’s good to mix it up every now and then.  Ya know, to keep things fresh and fun.  Why not try mixing patterns in our outfits?  Well, for one thing, it’s intimidating and oh so scary, at least for me.  If you feel the same, don’t despair!  I have a sure-fire way to ensure you get the mix right every time.  Are you ready?  Okay, here goes.  Be a copycat.  That’s right, simply find inspiration and mimic it.  Easy, right?  Let’s see it in action.  I was drawn to today’s inspiration photo right away.  I just loved the uniqueness and interest of the look while maintaining simplicity.  The browns in the scarf tie in so nicely with the boots while the black in the scarf tie in with the shirt.  Fabulous!  I thought I’d try my hand at mixing stripes and animal print.  At first, I paired a brown and black animal print scarf with a black and white striped shirt.  However, I just didn’t like the way it looked on me.  Instead, I kept the same color palette by adding a black, gray, and white animal print scarf.  That I liked.  What do you think?  Need more ideas on easy ways to mix prints?  Check out my previous post on mixing prints here.

It’s Been Forever

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!

Today, let’s try out another Try It, Wear It, Love It challenge from Looking Fly on a Dime (check out my previous posts on this here and here).  We’re kicking it back to Day 20 “I Haven’t Worn This In Forever“.  That certainly describes this sweater I pulled out of my closet this morning.  It’s been at least 2 years since I wore this sweater.  It’s one of my favorites, but I’ve been too scared to try it on for fear it wouldn’t fit.  This challenge inspired me to go ahead and give it a try.  Much to my surprise, it still fits!  Yay!  Now that’s a great way to start the morning!
