Believe Beauty Makeup Review

Welcome back to Talk Fabulous! It’s been awhile and it’s so good to be back! Let’s jump right in!

Today, let’s look at a Dollar General brand, Believe Beauty. I first heard about this brand on Emily Noel’s YouTube channel. She was doing a video on makeup $5 and under (see the video here). Seeing as how the prices at the drugstore are skyrocketing, I was skeptical that there was anything worth using at that price point. Boy, was I wrong! I ran out to my nearest DG and picked up some makeup to try for myself.

Sidenote: check out Emily Noel’s YouTube channel (here) and her Instagram (here). She is awesome!

Let’s jump into the reviews!

Radiantly Primed Face Primer ($5): Must Try

This primer is beautiful! It smooths nicely onto the skin and gives your face a beautifully, healthy glow. Use on its own or under foundation. You won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait to try out their other primer options!

Skin Finish Foundation ($5): Must Try

Another beautiful product! This foundation is gorgeous on the face. It provides great coverage without feeling or looking cakey on the skin. In my experience, this works best applied with a sponge in conjunction with the primer. Using this combination the foundation adheres to the skin and becomes one with it. The staying power is great. It’s not transfer resistant by any means but it does last through the day. For a $5 price tag, this is a fabulous find! Also, did I mention how beautiful this packaging is?!?! Love it!

Concealer($4): Take it or leave it

The Believe Beauty concealer was just meh for me. The coverage is fine, although the product offers no brightening effect. I do like a concealer that offers some brightening. However, if that’s not as important to you, this concealer might be for you! At $4 it’s worth a shot!

Matte Blur Loose Transluscent Powder ($5): Must try

This powder is beautiful on the skin! It’s incredibly fine yet it doesn’t fly everywhere like some loose powders do. The ‘matte’ part of the name is questionable as it does let the glow from the primer shine through. If you are looking for a mattifying powder, this isn’t it. However, it does blur without looking cakey. It’s light enough that it can be used as an under eye setting powder too. It’s gorgous and I will be repurchasing this product!

Eye Brow Mascara ($4): Must try

I love a good eye brow mascara and this one doesn’t disappoint! The brush is the perfect size and picks up just the right amount of product. It lasts all day and is a great color match. It’s all turning up roses here, so try it out today!

High Drama Fiber Mascara ($4.50): Hard pass

I so wanted to love this mascara. It gives the lashes a beautiful, lengthening effect that’s just so pretty. By mid-day, though, I’m left looking like a mama raccoon. That is not a cute look on anyone! Leave this one on the shelf!

Makeup Perfecting Setting Spray ($4.50): Must try

This setting spray has the finest mister of any setting spray I’ve ever tried. It is SUPER fine. No big droplets here! The scent is also quite lovely like a clean/tropical vibe. It doesn’t seem like the setting spray helps the longevity of the makeup, however, it does give the skin a nice perfected look. Pick this up today!

I’d say that was a pretty good haul! 1 meh, 1 hard pass and 5 must trys! It’s safe to say that Believe Beauty is a brand to check out! I will be trying more of what they have to offer soon, so stay tuned!

What new makeup have you been trying out lately? Let us know down in the comments!

That’s all for today! Have a fabulous day, lovelies!
