The Best Tip Ever: Size Does Not Matter

Hey, guys! Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!
Today, let’s talk size. We have quite a complicated relationship with the labels on our clothes. They represent our internal struggle with what we want to be (or think we are) with reality. That can be a hard pill to swallow, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
First and foremost, we need to learn to love our bodies just the way they are.  There’s no need to compare ourselves to supermodels and celebrities. Anyone can look flawless with a team of 20 people doing their makeup and hair. We’re all beautiful in our own way, so rock it, girl!
Secondly, the size labels on our clothes are just arbitrary numbers and letters. Just because you might be an L and not an M doesn’t make you any less beautiful. Instead, focus on fit. No one looks good in clothes that are too small (not even the supermodels!). There’s no reason to try to squeeze into an M when you really need an L. No one will see the label and the L will look far more flattering.
I had such an experience shopping a couple weeks ago. There was a beautiful sweater on the rack. I picked up an M and silly me didn’t try it on. When I got home, I was so excited to wear it, I tore off the tags before I tried it on. Again, what was I  thinking? It was too small, but I tried to wear it anyway. Let me tell you, that’s not a cute look. Had I focused on fit and ignored the label, I would’ve looked skinnier in the larger size than the smaller one.
In other words, size doesn’t matter. Fit does, though. Let’s take the power away from those numbers and letters on labels and start dressing to flatter our bodies.
