Hey, guys! Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!
These days, everyday is a rollercoaster ride. The ups and downs of our current situation are taxing on our minds, bodies, and souls. *sigh
Luckily, technology has our back and is allowing us to remain connected while we’re physically apart. For many of us this means many a video chat. Need to “walk” over to a co-worker’s desk…call them on Zoom. Want to say hi to the family…Google Hangouts to the rescue.

These video chat sessions can come at any moment and without warning. Looking presentable is a must (at least from the top up, pants are totally optional at this point). Let’s explore 5 easy ways to always look your best when your chatting it up via webcam.
Tip 1: Wear Mascara

It’s important, whether in person or online, to make your eyes the focal point of your face. The first step to achieving this is to apply mascara. Mascara has a great power to really help make your eyes pop. It’s like magic in a tube. So, before any video chat, make sure to layer on some mascara. I’m still loving the Lash Paradise mascara from L’Oreal. See my review here.
Tip 2: Fill in those brows

Remember that we want to make our eyes the focal point of our face? Another great and easy way to do this is by filling in the brows. This is a quick and easy step that can make all the difference. Check out this post for my favorite brow product.
Tip 3: Add some blush

Nothing gives the skin a healthier glow like blush. It gives the skin that naturally flushed looked that instantly adds life and depth to the skin. No need to overdo it here. Just add a quick swipe of your favorite blush and you’re good to go. I’ve been loving the Milani baked blushes (see the post here). The color is spot on and a little goes a long way.
Tip 4: Do your hair

Stay with me here, I’m not talking about going all out with a fancy updo or anything like that. We do need to put a little effort into this area, though. Nothing can make you look more unprofessional, tired, or even age you as much as not running a comb through your locks. As you know, I’ve never been one to do much with my hair. I’m way more into makeup. I think that’s because I can control the makeup better. I feel like my hair just has a life of its own. With video chatting, though, your hair only has to look good from the front! Even I can handle that! Also, I’ve discovered these updo hair pieces on Amazon (check them out here). These babies deserve a post all their own, so stayed tuned for that. They really are a hair game changer!
Tip 5: Wear Lipstick

If you do nothing else, do this one. Putting on lipstick not only makes you look instantly put together but it’s a big confidence booster too. How can you not feel fabulous when wearing a rocking lip color? Trust me, it’s impossible. Now is the time to experiment. Those neutral colors you’re used to wearing may not transfer well on screen. Try something slightly darker or brighter, just don’t go too crazy if it’s for work.
