Today, let’s talk expectations. Expectations can be the death of us. It can keep us from trying new things or letting go of old, outdated ones. Take today’s inspiration photo for example. I love the way it combines spring colors with the practicality of the black sweater for those colder days. Unless we’re talking Iowa football outfits, I’ve never been one to put black and yellow together. My unrealistic expectation is that I’ll look like a honey bee. Putting those fears aside, I recreated the look. I paired a white tank with jeans, a black sweater, yellow scarf, and black ballet flats. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. I didn’t look like a honey bee at all! I’m so glad I tried this out. Not only do I have a new color combo in my fashion arsenal, but I have put some silly fears to rest. Next time, I’ll be more willing to try something new and reach for something unknown. Who knows, it might surprise you!
