Today, let’s talk how to mix neutrals and colors. The inspiration photo is a great mix of just that. Most of the outfit is grays and whites, but then you have a fabulous pop of purple. Not to mention the mix of textures with the purse and shoes. This gives the outfit interest without being overpowering. My recreation consists of all solid blocks of color. One patterned piece would have made a huge difference in terms of the interest of the outfit. Next time, I would start with a patterned scarf and pick my neutrals based on the colors in the scarf. As a finishing touch, just add different textures from a bag or shoes, etc. As with all things, sometimes our “mistakes” present a great learning opportunities.
