Thrift Store Shopping

Happy National Thrift Shop Day! In honor of such a great occasion, let’s talk thrift store shopping. I’m a huge fan of shopping at thrift stores. You can find super cute items at deeply discounted prices. What’s not to love about that? However, I’m not going to sit here and pretend I wasn’t skeptical about this venture at first. I was. I mean I had always bought furniture and home decor items, but clothes? That weirded me out a bit.  I started out buying a shirt that I absolutely adored. I took it home, washed it, wore it, and felt fine. From then on I was hooked. I do have two rules, though. One-I have to LOVE the item and be certain that I’ll wear it. Two-I donate back the pieces I’m replacing. As I talked about in my Wardrobe Editing post (here) I follow the one in one out rule. Both rules ensure there will be a steady stock for those who shop at thrift stores out of necessity. Below is a collection of some off the items I’ve purchased at thrift stores.
