Hey, guys! Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!
Today, let’s get crafty and make some jewelry! I’ve always been a fan of making your own jewelry. You can tailor your jewelry for your style, it’s often more inexpensive than purchasing jewelry, and it’s easy! Win-win-win! If you’re new to jewelry making, my suggestion is to start with bracelets. They’re super easy to make and you’ll get a feel for how to work with the beads and findings. Let’s get started! You’ll need: stretchy beading cord (here), scissors, and beads (similar here). Micheals carries strings of beads in their Bead Gallery collection, which is what I used for this project. These are great, especially when you’re starting out. I made the bracelet and earrings below using one string of beads. Make sure to watch their ads and catch them when they’re on sale! To make the bracelet, simply cut the beading cord about 2-3″ longer than your desired end length. String on the beads to the desired length. Make several knots to secure, cut the remaining cord, and you’re done! If you’d like more information on making jewelry hop on over to my Frost Yourself Pinterest board. (Bonus points if you can tell me where the “Frost Yourself” reference is from. Leave your guesses in the comments below.) I have lots of project ideas and resources to help you on your journey of making your own jewelry.
