DIY Cupcake Stand

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to Talk Fabulous!
Today, let’s talk DIY party supplies.  When I was planning my wedding, I was constantly looking at Pinterest for ideas.  Actually, who are we kidding?  I still do that now.  Ha!  During one of my Pinterest sessions, I stumbled across this inspiration photo.  How cute is that, right?  I loved the idea of a DIY tiered cupcake stand and quickly dove into making one of my own.  You’ll need: 2 support pieces-here they used candle holders.  I didn’t like the way mine looked with those, so I used 2 wine glasses instead.  You’ll also need 3 plastic plate trays.  They used 3 different sizes. I used the same size for all 3 tiers, so I could fit more cupcakes on the trays.  All these supplies can be found at the dollar store.  You’ll also need some hot glue to connect it all together.  Simply, put some glue on the top and bottom of your support pieces and stick on the trays.  That’s it!  To be honest, mine was not super sturdy.  It served the purpose for the evening, but it wasn’t a piece I could use again and again without removing the glue and then reconstructing it.  Even so, I would still highly recommend this as a super quick and easy way to make a cupcake stand!

  1. My mom and I are actually making a similar stand for my wedding. We used glasses instead of candle holders though. Bought all the glassware at Goodwill to save money too.

  2. That's awesome, Krista! What a neat project for you and your mom. Buying the glassware at Goodwill is an excellent idea that a lot of people don't think about. They always have a ton of great glassware! I'd love to see a picture of your final product!
